It is also what enables us to do what we believe to be right for us even when there is pressure from others around us to do otherwise. It is what enables us to go ahead into the unknown where there are no guarantees of comfort, safety or security. In our lives we are often, even constantly, confronted with a new world, a new way of being, a new way of seeing and of being seen. Ordinary living takes courage, and to rise above the ordinary into the extraordinary takes even more courage. One of the keys to courage is to consider the fear and find a way to let the ENERGY of the fear itself power the action. That is true COURAGE.
Often people think of courage as being part of high heroism, it is, but it also has its quiet, hidden side as well - and that may require greater courage because we cannot expect the rewards of praise and approval for it. No courage is needed to be unhappy or to feel sorry for ourselves. We do not need to be self-disciplined or wise for that. However, to open our hearts to the risks and vulnerability of Joy and Trust requires all of those things, especially courage.
Most people have decided by the age of three of four what they must do in order to survive. From this decision, this belief about how the world is, most of our fears and self-limitations grow. Have we the courage to discover and break through these limiting beliefs, awaken to greater possibilities, and reach for the stars or at least our dreams?
We need to transcend our fears and accept the gift of Courage.
When we feel overcome by fear and self-doubt, the questions we need to ask ourselves begin with, "What am I really afraid of?" Quite often deep soul-searching enables us to discover that our true fears are hidden behind our false fears. It is impossible to face false fears because they are merely shape-shifters and shadows without substance (nothing to fear but fear itself), continually changing form. Facing a real fear is much easier because it doesn't keep changing the rules. The question then becomes "What can I do to open my heart to courage so when I feel fear, I can follow through on what I want and need to do?"
Another question to ask is, "What else is present?" When fear of any kind arises in the mind, more space is allowed in the heart if you are willing, and to acknowledge the fear while at the same time looking for whatever else, besides the fear, is also there. Thus one neither ignores nor gives too much focus to the fear itself - and more space opens up within your heart space where the fear can be explored and liberated, this too takes Courage.

I now have a website you can visit: essentialverdure.com. I am still working on it, but like everything else in life, it is a work in progress. Always growing and expanding.

The newest spray, Cosmic Heart, is now available. Life truly is miraculous, especially if we get out of our own way. I have been getting to know my self on a deeper level, been shown clearly to walk my talk as if that giant mirror of reflection is just for me reminding me of who I am, what I still need to work on and where I want to go. And my business is taking off/getting ahead of me, just hope I can keep up, (thank you everyone for your encouragement and support).
Each morning I wake with a song in my head(literally). Today's song by Michael Buble', "The Best is Yet to Come". My life of late has been so wonderful I cannot even imagine how much more wonderful it can be, but I wait with abated breath and great anticipation. Until then, I take each day as a new opportunity to embrace what I have and willingly step through the door of more, door of opportunity, hopefully, remembering to with discernment. Heaven is opening for me and you, granting us our hearts desire. If you so choose, If you walk through, If you find you want something else or just more of what you already have, Continue to walk through those open doors without fear.
What would you do if you knew you could not fail?
Live life with no regrets. Flow with the river of life even as it falls over the edge to the stream below to only continue on its path. We get in our own way - We are the ones who put up rocks in the way. We are the ones who builds the dam.
Breathe, Smile, Sing a Song and Live.
Whatever decision you make is just that - a decision - a choice - an experience. What do you want to choose today? To feel sorry for yourself? Or, to embrace life with all its ups and downs like a roller coaster and enjoy the wild ride?
Let go of all your regrets, guilt, shame, would've, could've should''ve. These keep you in the past. Be here Now - Be present or Life will pass you by.
When thinking of the future - use it, as you dream and imagine what your future will be like - don't stay there - Be here Now.
Balance is key - with all your thoughts and emotions guiding you along the highway of choices and experiences. Life truly is wonderful. It all depends on how you look at it.
You know the phrase, "Count your Blessings"?
Take time to truly look at all you have- all you have had - people/friends/family/experiences/material possessions - when you take your focus off of what you don't have/ things you want and put your focus onto what you have here in this moment now, you know what happens next? You turn around and - Bam - all those doors you thought were shut are now open. Try it for yourself. What is it you desperately want/ Let it go. Wanting it keeps it at bay. Realizing you already have it brings it to you. Put your attention on something else and watch how the universe literally dumps the very thing you desire or something even better than your wildest dreams, into your life. Life and all its intricacies is truly amazing.
Have a wonderful life from this day forward!

November 14, 2009
Is this not the most spectacular weather we are having this time of year? Mid 60's and sunshine. I am putting in my order to have more of this. More sunshine within as well goes along way, too. Each day gives us an opportunity to begin again. What are you going to do today? Are you going to repeat yesterday or are you going to think new thoughts and allow yourself to have new feelings? What is in your order of the day?

If the sunshine isn't moving you within maybe the latest addition to my line of Elixir Mists just may. Leaving us fresh and new so we can continue on our path of green and growth;verdure.
As I am learning to follow my emotional guidance system and recognizing when not to when I am in the box of emotional upset, following it, following my intuition, asking and listening, it is truly given the answer I so seek, and become one with the flow of life as I am learning to navigate this river within and without to become a master of my domain of the many lives I have lived and those I will live and for whom I have met and will meet and those who are in my life now-whew-almost takes my breath away. That is when I sit back, relax, take a deep breath and fold all this in on itself, as if it is an origami box into nothingness for it all is an illusion I've/we've created and each day can choose to recreate anew once again. How are you going to create today? Through emotion, mental, spiritual and physical, we are all one. Embrace one another. Embrace yourself. Live for today. I have sort of been on a hiatus. My husband and I have moved from the city out to the country. If you haven't moved in awhile, for us it has been 24 years, some advice - start cleaning out the drawers and closets now. Although I have done an annual trip to the nearest charity, you don't realize how much "stuff" you have hidden away in a box until it is time to really physically look at it all. Besides all the physical items I have had stored, this also gave me an opportunity to look at all my personal stuff on an emotional level whether I wanted to or not. It has been the best thing ever. Cleansing, clearing and releasing on a multitude of levels has thoroughly been very healing for me. Try it. Even if you really aren't moving, start reviewing all of your possessions now including your thoughts and beliefs of those which you have hung on to for many years. Ask yourself why? and see what happens for you.
Enjoy the rest of the summer.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_8wno_6pHCIM/SgB2Y_3H1mI/AAAAAAAAADk/1VFOOD5OUNo/s320/cinco+de+mayo+stamp.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5332392130638239330" />
May 5, 2009

Today is Cinco De Mayo day - Celebration of Mexico - a modern take of all things Mexican. This year is important more than others with all they have been through of late. A year to embrace their heritage and all they have to offer. They may live in a different place, have different beliefs and traditions, but that doesn't make them any less or more than us. They are humans just as much as we are and we need to embrace them and our fellow man as we embrace our loved ones. We are all connected through Source, the creator of All. The more we accept each other, the love that is in each of us can flow instead of being blocked which allows fear to rise and gain a foothold in our very being. Embrace the Mexican heritage for what it represents so that you can embrace your own heritage even more so. "Love thy neighbor as thyself". Of course, you loving yourself is big on the "to do list".

Happy Cinco De Mayo Everyone!

Super Bowl XLIII

February 1st

Super Bowl Sunday - A reason to celebrate an ending to yet another season of football and gather with friends, to eat, drink and be merry. Hmmm, do we really need a reason to celebrate? Everday is a reason to celebrate. Is it a reason to let our guard down, relax and release our stringent self control and self discipline we place on ourselves most of the time? Or does it seem that there are just more and more events for us to come together? Is it a reason to eat too much, drink too much, yell a little louder at the TV? Do you watch it for the football, the halftime show or for the commercials waiting to be revealed today? Is it just another Sunday for you? Whatever reason it may be, enjoy, indulge, splurge, laugh and scream out loud!

Until the next event,

Sherri

More health information is on its way.

Happy New Year!

2009 has arrived, Happy New Year!

Hope you all have had a very nice and pleasant December despite the snow and flooding and were able to celebrate the holidays with family and friends.

With 2008 behind and 2009 ahead of us, now is a perfect time to look back and contemplate the past year not with regret nor failure, but with gratitude and appreciation. For every breath and heartbeat, for every smile and frown, for evey hello and goodbye, may you look back with fondness and look forward with excitement of what lies ahead. My wish for us all is that we create with intention and experience all that we dare dream with an open mind from our hearts with love and know that whatever we do is okay.

As the dates on the calendar are being filled in, and before 2009 is over as fast as it has arrived, my personal resolution is to not take life so seriously for as in the song, merrily we roll along, Life is but a Dream.
Happy New Year!

New President, New Site

Hello Everyone - Thank you for reading my first post. I hope you enjoy the changes as much as I do. Check back often for updates!

November is here and it seemed as if the pre-election get to know your candidates was going to last forever, but alas, it is now said and done with a very new president. Here's hoping for the promises made and the changes this country so desperately needs will come to fruition for all of mankind.

Now onward about my new site you are now viewing. Welcome to Essential Verdure. I started the month of November with a new phone number which spurned me onto other new things, thus a new name and now a new website. Here at Essential Verdure you will find all health related issues I can think of that is within my area of expertise. And that which is out of my realm I will do my best to guide you with accurate information from reliable sources.

You are probably wondering what "verdure" means. I came across this word while looking for an alternative to the word health, healthy, well-being, etc. I wanted something different to standout from all the others. The world wide web isn't as wide as it once was when it comes to picking out a domain name.

According to The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition. Copyright © 2000 by Houghton Mifflin Company:

Ver·dure (vûrjr) key NOUN: The lush greenness of flourishing vegetation.
Vigorous greenery. A fresh or flourishing condition: the verdure of childhood.
ETYMOLOGY: Middle English, from Old French, from verd, green, from Latin viridis OTHER FORMS: verdur·ous (Adjective), verdur·ous·ness (Noun)

So, there you have it, Essential Verdure. I have big ideas and plans in my head on what I would like this blog to become so expect changes as least for awhile as it grows and expands.

PersonalHealthnHome.com is now part of the past. Please use essentialverdure@gmail.com for communication at this time.

Thank you and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
